and the Velten host family

Our house has been run by our family with much love and commitment since 1957. What started out small has now become a place where guests feel at home – and that is still the most important thing for us today.

The history of the guest house
Foundation
Our grandparents Karl and Lydia Bärwald found the Gästehaus Bärwald with initially 5 guest rooms.
Cultivation
Extension of the large breakfast room and expansion to 8 guest rooms.
Extension
Extension from two to three storeys and expansion to 16 guest rooms.
Room enlargement
Enlargement of rooms and renovation of the balconies of the rear south-facing rooms.
Renovation
Enlargement of the rooms and renovation of the balconies of the front south-facing rooms and the east-facing balconies, redesign of the façade.
New balconies
Redesign of the balconies & facade on the north side and room renovation.
